He can only be in one place at a time

September 28th, 2007, 1:54 pm · 1 Comment · posted by Larry Welborn

Prominent defense attorney Gary Pohlson is a popular guy these days, and its causing some congestion in the courthouse.

He is scheduled to be in three courtrooms on the same day next week. Something has to give.

Pohlson is defending Ralph Lumary, the Diamond Bar grandfather charged with trying to take theblame for his grandson in a drunk-driving fatal collision in a trial before Judge James. A Stotler. He is an expert witness in a civil case before Judge Corey S. Cramin. And he is supposed to be selecting a jury in a death penalty trial  before Judge William R. Froeberg.

Stotler announced Thursday that he hopes to make time for Pohlson during  a session on jury instruction in  the Lumary case on Tuesday to allow him to testify in Cramin’s court.

But it’s going to be difficult for Pohlson to get anything done in Froeberg’s court, where 150 prospective jurors are scheduled to report on Tuesday.

And then off in the future, Pohlson is also preparing his defense of Skylar Deleon, who faces his own death penalty trial in July on charges that he masterminded the death-at-sea of a Newport Beach couple in a bizarre plot to steal their yacht.

Prominent my ass! If he’s so prominent, he should stop taking court appointed cases and spreading himself thin and being incompetent. He represented my brother as an appointed lawyer last year and never showed up and never visited him either. It’s funny how Welborn never know who are the hacks and who’s truly prominent. You can get this lawey for free, but even for free, I wouldn’t recommend it.
