Prosecutors want the public to help find a fugitive child molester who was set free on bail after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on his softball team.
George Quevedo Quintana, 37, of Anaheim faces up to 10 years in prison after pleaded guilty to molesting the victim, who was on a team with the West Grove Girls Softball League in Garden Grove. The softball coach molested the girl during a day trip last September.
After being charged in the case, Quintana changed his plea on April 18 before Orange County Superior Court Roger Robbins, who decided to delay sentencing to May 19 and let the molester out on $100,000 bail until the hearing. Prosecutors unsuccessfully objected — saying Quintana should be sentenced immediately and put in jail. They said he may try to flee or commit suicide.
After his release, authorities found out Quintana violated a restraining order by contacting the girl. A warrant was issued for his arrest — but police could not find him.Quintana is facing a maximum of 10 years in prison. Why do they continue to release these people (for whatever reason), especially knowing that they most likely will leave the country and prolong the search. This poor little girl and others won’t be getting any rest knowing he is out there loose.

OK, so is this judge just going to get away with allowing this predator back on the streets, knowing that he’s going to be put away for 10 years? Anyone with half a brain would know that the guy would be in the breeze. Sounds like it’s time for some sort of judicial review on this Roger Robbins character.

Judge Roger Robbins had better be driving around in his car looking for this pervert. Way to go Judge, you let a child molester go free for absolutely no reason. Maybe this guy is too old to be serving on the bench and should be removed.

Why are you people so surprised at this. We live in california, where even now as we speak janice hanh from LA is explaining why she gave tons of money to known (buy the police) to a gang intervention group that was nothing by gang bangers who are now laughing their butts off at her. nobody is a the civil serice world has any common sense. look at our schools, our courts or budgets etc…etc..etc..The solution is simple: NEVER RE-ELECT ANYBODY. If experience counted that we would be doing great. But experieince in govt means being promoted to the height of your incompentcy.

Just a wild, uneducated, off the cuff, stupid guess…..but Mr. Quintana might be walking the streets of mexico. This is like having a nice, big 40 pound salmon on the line, playing him out for 2 hours, bringing him alongside the boat and then letting him break the line. If he has any money left, good luck at working with the federales.

First I would like to thank the OCR for publishing the name of the judge, job well done. Next, look into other rulings by this same judge. Has he let anyone else go, that fled?

Orange County Superior Court Roger Robbins needs to be recalled immediately. I cannot believe how bad some of these judges can be & they are the ultimate authority. The article states he actually granted bail for a sex offender, did I read this correctly? Oh dear God!!! Now when the “sex offender” is caught he needs to go live with the judge, no matter if he has kids in his home or if he has grandchildren in his home. Absolutely Unbelievable!!!

This kind of thing happens more in our increaseingly backwards society. Suddenly it has become fashionable for people to show more simpathy to the criminal than the victim, call the US military terrorists, and blame our own actions on anyone but ourselves. Its getting old. I hope this guy gets caught before he can hurt another child. If I was that girl’s father, I would be out at all hours of the day hunting this guy down. At least now, after they catch him, he will not only get the maximum but a little extra time in the pokey as well.

to Big Dave…………….if your serious about that then yes there is a reward. He skipped bail, call the bail bondsman and ask how much it is. If you know something and help them find this fool then you can probably get a cut. Good luck finding him and if should fall out of the car and down a cliff and found by a bobcat and eaten, then so be it.

First 10 years is not long enough for sex offenders. Second the judge should be sent to prison to be molested till Quintana is found.

My 13-year old daughter and I sat in that courtroom on April 18th and cried when the felony counts were read and more so when he was allowed out on bail. It still gives me the creeps that he was near my daughter. Many of the young softball girls fear this man for the despicable acts he committed and I am dumbfounded to explain justice when Judge Robbins just gave the criminal a “get out of jail” free card! I agree with others, let the judge sit in jail until Quintana is found!

This is so disgusting. This man was my coach and the victim is my friend. I trusted this low life pervert and so did many other girls in the league. He seemed willing to help us out as our coach and he tried to be like a father to my friend. He took her trust and back fired it. This man should have been locked up as soon as he was proven guilty! The judge should be ashamed of what he did and he should be out looking for George himself. Just when my friend was feeling safe you scared her again. Way to go judge!

Where in our judicial system does it say once a person is charged with a crime of child molestation then later admits to having done this crime, are they allowed to walk free! Someone who has broken a law that protects our children from such a monster is set free based on mere trust or false credibility that he will return for sentencing? This perv cant be trusted to return for his punishment-he is a criminal who has forfeited his rights when he committed this horrible crime. He should have been put away like the animal he is and forgotten..Justice truly is blind and stupid in the case of Judge Rogers. A name I will remember to never re-elect should I ever run across this name when voting again!
