Fugitive child molester turns himself in

George Quevedo Quintana — a convicted child molester who went missing shortly after a judge freed him on bail last month — turned himself in yesterday, prosecutors said Friday.
The 37-year-old former softball coach who admitted to molesting a 12-year-old girl on his team surrendered to the court without incident, according to Orange County District Attorney spokeswoman Susan Kang Schroeder.
Quintana went missing shortly after pleaded guilty on April 18 to molesting the victim, who was on Quintana’s team with the West Grove Girls Softball League in Garden Grove. He molested the girl during a day trip last September.
At the hearing, Orange County Superior Court Judge Roger Robbins decided to delay sentencing to May 19 and let Quintana out on $100,000 bail until the hearing. Prosecutors unsuccessfully objected.
After his release, authorities found out Quintana violated a restraining order by contacting the girl. A warrant was issued for his arrest — but police could not find him.
Quintana now is being held without the option of bail. He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced June 6, Schroeder said.

They never learn do they? The Judge who released him should be disbared immediately. Will the next victim be murdered? All of us People start thinking “wrong is wrong” everyone knows what is right and honest and what is wrong and disgusting. Remember our Samantha in Stanton??? these are sick people and should not be on the streets at all….Lets do something about them!

Shame on Judge Robbins for allowing this sicko to be released on bail. If he molested anyone else while he was out of jail, I hope the judge gets prosecuted for it as well.

Another West Garden Grove child molester. Thank goodness for South OC.

Judge Robbins is one lucky guy. If Quintana had not had the stroke of conscious to turn himself in, the honorable judge would be looking at a recall. As it is, elections are coming up soon, is this an elected position?
What a bone-head move, letting this guy out on bail. What about protecting the girl? What about the parents of the girl?
If the dad had taken a gun or a knife to him, the judge would be responsible.

Oh my God a light bulb moment…he is being held without bail!!!

You’re an idiot Jason.
Jason Says: Another West Garden Grove child molester. Thank goodness for South OC.
Thank goodness there’s South OC for morons like you to isolate yourself in and commute 2hrs each day from your postage stamp size lots. While you’re there, why don’t you clean out all those syringes from those congested mini playgrounds and say hi to gang rapist Heidl and his buddies.
Per Megan’s Law site, Sex offenders in:
Mission Viejo = 24
Lake Forest = 23
RSM = 9
West Garden Grove = 8
Keep drinking that South OC kool aid.

So now we know what child molesters look like? Should be easy to round them all up then.

Another idiot liberal judge! I thought by moving out of LA to the OC I would not see idiot liberal judges but I guess I was wrong. I have been in law enforcement for 20 years and I have seen it too often where these liberal judges let these felons out and they commit more crimes.

Voters need to educate themselves on judges. Some of them are worse putzs than the people they put away. We actually vote some of them onto the bench for subsequent terms after they are appointed. At the very least, google them or go to the court websites and read some of their decisions. Remeber good ol Judge Kline in Orange County? Fortunately someone got on the ballot as he was a shoe in to run unopposed at the time. They often have these liberal mentalities in crimes against children. I left working in social work with abused kids in Orange County because I felt that some of the judge’s decisions were so totally out to lunch!

I’m with WGG! Right on! We as a society have alot of idiots infecting our court system either as jurors or judges. But as voters we have the power to be part of the SOLUTION. Get your heads out of the sand–this is reality folks! Get tough take a stand and vote these dinosaur judges out! Dont ever think it wont happen to you! Put these types of offenders away like the animals they are and forget them –they cant be rehabilitated! As for you Jason-tune in to DATELINE NBC one night–on predators–they are everywhere even in your squeaky clean South County!

I am so saddened to here all the comments about this man. None of you have any idea who he really is. Comments made before from Stephanie that was in court that day. There was no crying until someone got up and spoke, everyone there from wgg were laughing and running in and out of the courtroom. As for where are the parents of the victim, that’s what we would like to know. The mother knew all about her daughters feeling for this man and yet she did nothing. Dad he’s really not in the picture or so says the girl. You need to find out all the facts before you put it in black and white. Thats professional journalism.

I have a response to Saddened. I was also in court that day. People were coming and going because they either had to make phone calls and it was the respectful thing to do or they were using the restroom. Also the victim and her mother were requested out several times by the DA and also the Detective. Yes there was laughing going on because the family has been in a living hell over the last 8 months and they felt like it was finally coming to an end. The family and thier friends have cried too many times to count, and the only way anyone can get thru this is to not try to think about it every second of everyday and believe that this will get better. So yes we all put on brave faces and when we all had to relive what the family has been thru by hearing it spoke no one could hold back the tears. Yes the victims father is not around. The victim had met George on the softball field and she would be upset that her father had’nt shown up for a game and she turned to George for someone to talk to about it. And he gained her trust by being a friend and listening to her. The only feelings the mother knows her daughter had for George was that of a father figure. The victim had even given him a gift last father’s day. I know some people will want to stand behind him, but how can you when you have seen lie after lie come from his mouth.

And yes your right…. we don’t really know this man, he lied to hundreds of people about what he did for a living and who he really was. So your right, we don’t really know who he is. What we do know is that he is a 37 year old man who molested a 12 year old girl.

To ocgirl55,
Your right he did lie to alot of people, but that doesn’t make him a horrible person. Yes what he did was wrong and and now he will face the penalty. But there is alot more to this and if you are close to the family you know that this is true. There were alot of people who saw and heard things that should have sent up red flags to all family members for quite some time. It’s just very unfortunate that it all led to what happened. But as I said before there is still alot of info that everybody needs to look at, and look at it very closely.
People often pass judgement all too quickly before knowing everything. The whole truth is a very hard thing to face.

Saddened You say there were red flags, why didnt you or your family say something. The only info that needs to be looked at is he is a 37 year old man who molested and hurt a 12 year old girl.
