Orange County Superior Court — which will close one day a month starting in August because of the state’s financial mess — has laid off some employees, plans to layoff more, and wants other workers to take buyouts.
The court is accepting applications from employees “who are interested in receiving a monetary incentive to voluntarily resign or retire on or before July 31,” according to a court memo.
The incentive is 25 percent of the employee’s annual base pay — not to exceed $25,000.
Denise Leat, chief human resources officer for the court, said the court has imposed some layoffs and more are anticipated. Numbers of those who have been laid off weren’t immediately available.
